The ACES project incorporated cultural arts presentations and visiting artists from the community organizations into the Arabic and Chinese curriculum to motivate students and create interest in studying these more difficult, less familiar, and therefore typically less elected languages. Cultural arts presentations supported interdisciplinary planning between project teachers and teachers from other content areas. Each school held cultural arts presentations to promote the language awareness and increase interest in Arabic or Chinese among staff members and students in the entire school.
